Baritone · Bass
Biography
Prizes came early to Vicențiu Țăranu: second at the Ionel Perlea national lied festival in Slobozia in 1996, then the Grand Prix at the Mihail Jora festival in Bucharest and at the Perlea competition in 1998, the year he graduated from the National University of Music in Bucharest, and the David Ohanesian Prize of the Romanian Musical Forum in 2004. He takes both baritone and bass assignments — Papageno, Guglielmo, Figaro and Colas, Haydn's Sempronio and Cimarosa's maestro di cappella at the Comic Opera for Children in Bucharest, Dapertutto in Les contes d'Hoffmann and Don Bartolo in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Bucharest National Opera — and has worked with most of Romania's philharmonic orchestras.
