Xavier Lecomte de la Bretonnerie

For the Easter concert at Rousse on 21 April 2006, Xavier Lecomte de la Bretonnerie appeared as soloist with the Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra, on a platform he shared with Eugenia Ralcheva, Georgi Sultanov, Anita Dafinska and Alexander Tekeliev Jr. A concert pianist, he founded with the Bulgarian violinist Darina Maleeva the Orsay association Les amis de la musique et de la terre, set up to teach and to perform music bound to nature. With Maleeva he recorded the complete works for violin and piano of Cesar Franck, a programme that placed the known sonata beside rare pieces of the composer's early years.
