Zvezdi Keremedchiev

A rock opera took Zvezdi Keremedchiev into the theatres of four Bulgarian cities: Nikolo Kotzev's Nostradamus, staged for the first time in November 2016 and then given in Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Plovdiv and Sofia through to May 2017, with Alexander Atanasov, Amalia Nenova, Thomas Vikström, Björn Lodin and Mehmet Kaya in the cast around him. Zvezdomir Keremedchiev was born on 3 June 1964 in Bezmer, in the Yambol district, and studied in the popular-music faculty of the Sofia conservatoire. In 1980 he founded the hard rock band Analgin with Rumen Antov, Ivaylo Petrov and Dimitar Lazarov, and sang in it until 2016; he sang with Oasis in 1985 and 1986; and from the founding of Ahat in 1986 by students of the music academy he has been its voice, apart from the years between 1990 and 1998. Ahat opened for Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Scorpions, its Chernata ovtsa became an emblem of Bulgarian rock, and a compilation covering 1986 to 2013 appeared on Harbour Island Records.
