The 28-year-old conductor from Plovdiv proved to be the "key to success" of Saturday's concert. He is an excellently educated artist (piano, trumpet, composition and conducting), a gifted musician of great temperament, with a joy in music-making and a skill in dialogue with the orchestra and in conveying his intentions. The large audience of music lovers was roused to applaud the daring realisation of the overtures to Rossini's "William Tell" and Verdi's "Nabucco", as well as the excellent accompaniment to the young soloists.
