Ludwig Minkus — Don Quixote (Naxos)

For all its lightness and freshness, Minkus's score is highly complex and anything but easy to play. In this recording the Sofia National Opera Orchestra under the direction of Nayden Todorov succeeds magnificently in finding the right tone for this music and mastering its technical hazards. The result is a complete recording well worth hearing, which will delight every friend of the ballet.
