Piano Concerto

Roland Baumgartner's large-scale piano concerto Notre Dame de Paris, scored for piano, full orchestra and chorus, had its first performance in Sofia in November 2022, with the Korean pianist SoRyang as soloist. Baumgartner, born in Sankt Polten in 1955, has worked mainly in film, television and theatre music and founded a summer theatre in Lower Austria; the concerto belongs to a series of large concert works from his later years. The title refers to the Paris cathedral. He has been honoured with the culture prize of Lower Austria.
