Violin Concerto "HOLLYWOOD"

Roumen Boyadjieff Jr. wrote his Violin Concerto for Kalina Hristova, concertmaster of the Sofia Philharmonic, and dedicated the score to her. Composer and soloist shaped the violin part through a close creative dialogue, refining its technical demands without disturbing the work’s larger design. Hristova described the concerto as brilliant, romantic and sincere, carrying a sense of longing for a vanished age. Its virtuosity is not merely decorative: the technical challenge is inseparable from the musical character and from the trust between the composer and the artist for whom the work was created.
