Victor Chuchkov's triple concerto for violin, cello and piano was given its world premiere by the Sofia Philharmonic in March 2005, in a subscription concert conducted by Nayden Todorov that also held Gershwin's Cuban Overture and the Bulgarian first performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem. Chuchkov, pianist as well as composer, wrote it for the three-soloist form that had lain almost untouched since Beethoven, and the Philharmonic took it up in a season that carried three premieres of Bulgarian scores.
