The suite was written in the 1990s on an idea from Emil Tabakov, for the Sofia Philharmonic, and given its first performance with the children's vocal group Pim Pam. It runs about twenty minutes and gathers eleven Beatles numbers, among them Something, Lady Madonna, Yesterday and Michelle, arranged for children's choir and symphony orchestra. Lyubomir Denev, a pianist as much at home in jazz as in the concert hall, wrote a series of such crossings — Sofia Nights, aimed at a Bulgarian equivalent of Rhapsody in Blue, and a Divertimento grosso for orchestra and big band.
