Michael Kamen scored Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves in 1991 for Kevin Reynolds, writing a broad orchestral idiom for a film shot largely in England. Out of it came (Everything I Do) I Do It for You, credited to Kamen with Bryan Adams and Robert John Lange, which spent sixteen consecutive weeks at the top of the British singles chart — a record that still stands — and won a Grammy. Kamen came to film from rock arranging, and the score keeps that double allegiance: horn-led writing for the outlaws, one lyrical theme carried across the whole picture.
