Alchemist

Karin Leitner, born in Vienna in 1972, trained as a flautist with Wolfgang Schulz in Vienna and Robert Aitken in Freiburg and played in the Vienna State Opera orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic and the BBC Symphony before turning to composition for her own instrument. Alchemist belongs to the body of pieces she wrote for flute, harp and orchestra and issued on her own recordings from 2009 onwards; it survives in two recorded versions. No published score, first performance or date of composition has been documented for it.
