Bourée

Bourée is the fifth movement of Sarabande, the orchestral suite Jon Lord recorded at the Stadthalle in Oer-Erkenschwick between 3 and 6 September 1975, with the Philharmonia Hungarica directed by Eberhard Schoener and a rock rhythm section alongside. The suite takes its movement titles from baroque dance forms — Fantasia, Sarabande, Aria, Gigue, Bourée, Pavane, Caprice, Finale — and uses them as frames rather than models, the Hammond organ arguing with the strings. At eleven minutes Bourée is one of the two long central panels of the set.
