The Concert Polka for two violins, in Danish Koncert-Polka for to Violiner, is Lumbye's showpiece for two soloists over a light orchestra, written for the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen where he conducted from 1843. The two violins chase each other in thirds and imitation, and the piece has stayed in the Tivoli orchestra's repertoire.
