Looney Tunes Melodies
- Composer
- Carl Stalling
- Composed
- 1936
Carl Stalling scored some six hundred Warner Bros. cartoons between 1936 and 1958, writing at the rate of a complete score a week for the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series. He had come from silent-film accompaniment and from Disney, where he devised the Silly Symphonies; at Warner he had the studio orchestra and, crucially, the studio's music catalogue, which he raided constantly, splicing popular songs, Liszt and Raymond Scott's Powerhouse into a few minutes of continuous action. His scores were recorded to the frame, cued to every collision.
