Triptih
- Composer
- Dimitar Tapkov
The Sofia Philharmonic's register lists this work of Dimitar Tapkov as Triptych for orchestra, one of a group of purely orchestral scores that also includes a Concerto for orchestra, a Prelude and the Microsymphony on A and H for strings. Tapkov, born in 1929 and long a professor of composition in Sofia, wrote in a moderate idiom that admitted serial procedures without adopting them wholesale — one of his miniature cycles is built on a row by Alban Berg. The three panels of the Triptych follow the contrast principle rather than a narrative programme.
