Diptych
- Composer
- Alexander Tekeliev
Alexander Tekeliev, born in Svilengrad in 1942, studied composition with Veselin Stoyanov at the Bulgarian State Conservatory, graduating in 1968, and later took specialisations in orchestration in Budapest and Paris. He worked as an editor at Bulgarian National Radio before joining the Academy of Music, where he became a full professor in 1991. The Diptych belongs to the orchestral side of a catalogue of more than a hundred published works; like his three string symphonies it is built on the contrast of two panels rather than on a symphonic argument.
