Two Songs for Bass
- Composer
- Alexander Tekeliev
Tekeliev wrote a series of songs with orchestra for low voice, of which the Sofia Philharmonic's register names two: The Horseman, on a poem by Endre Ady, and Yututunska yukahaha, on Zmaj Jovanović. Both set the bass against a full orchestra, in a declamatory manner closer to the dramatic scena than to the piano-accompanied art song. The composer, an editor at Bulgarian National Radio in the early 1970s and later professor at the Academy of Music in Sofia, has written more than a hundred published works across every genre.
