Алендорф

Alendorf, part of Blankenheim in the Eifel, is surrounded by juniper heath and calcareous grassland. Sheep grazing helps maintain this open landscape, where orchids and other flowering plants grow. The nearby Kalvarienberg offers views across the Lampertstal and the surrounding hills.

Fourteen Stations of the Cross lead pilgrims towards the summit cross at an elevation of 517 metres. Holy Week processions preserve a pilgrimage tradition extending back more than three centuries. The village's Wacholderfest celebrates its juniper landscape with guided walks, local spirits and music by the Alendorf alphorn players.
