Ла Банйеса

La Bañeza is a small town in the province of León that closes its streets once a year and lets motorcycles race through them. The Gran Premio has run since 1953 on a circuit of ordinary town roads, one of the last urban races of its kind in Europe, and it draws crowds several times the size of the town's population. The other date is Carnival, declared of national tourist interest, when the same streets fill again for entirely different reasons. Between the two, La Bañeza sells its beans.
