Torrent is the Horta's second city and keeps the tower it is named for. The medieval Torre — the eleventh-century Islamic keep that gave the town its name and now anchors its civic heraldry — rises restored beside the parish church in the centre of what has grown into Valencia's largest satellite. That calendar burns and marches in the Valencian manner: fallas of its own each March — Torrent's is among the region's major falla weeks outside the capital — and a Moros i Cristians festival whose parades have made the town a stronghold of the tradition in the Horta, with the Setmana Santa's processions adding a third register declared of regional interest. The stage is documented in the concert record: l'Auditori de Torrent, the modern hall whose chamber, symphonic and lyric programming has earned a metropolitan reputation — a purpose-built auditorium serving both the town's societats musicals (the Valencian band tradition at full strength here, as everywhere in the region) and the touring circuit. Around it, the Vedat's pine hill lends the town its green quarter. A tower for a name, bands for a birthright: Torrent plays Valencia's music in its own key.
