Амфитеатър на дворец „Филипсруе“

Between the baroque Schloss Philippsruhe and the Main, in the palace park at Hanau-Kesselstadt, an open-air theatre was laid out for the state garden show of 2002 and stayed. A sweeping roof — the Manta — covers stage and audience alike, so that the 1,342 seats hold in rain as readily as in sun; standing, the arena takes some 2,800. From May to late July it belongs to the Brüder Grimm Festspiele, fittingly enough in the town where Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were born. From then until October the stage passes to bands, soloists, comedians and touring productions.
