bTV began broadcasting on 1 June 2000 as Bulgaria's first private national television channel. Its programming combines news and current affairs with entertainment, sport, films and Bulgarian television series. The channel marked its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2025. Alongside its broadcasts, it has developed digital services and supported charitable and public-interest campaigns. Its news and morning programmes are among the standing points of contact between the Sofia Philharmonic and a general audience.
