Druzhba 1870 in Harmanli began as the Bratolyubie reading society in 1870 and adopted its present name in 1899. Its activity combines a public library with artistic training and amateur performance. The library preserves literature, manuscripts, rare editions, periodicals and audiovisual materials. Choral singing, folk and modern dance, theatre and instrumental tuition form part of the centre's programme, alongside children's vocal and folklore groups. Work with children and young people is central to its educational activity, which brings practical artistic study together with knowledge of local customs and cultural heritage.
