Terracina named its cinema-theatre for Trajan, the emperor whose engineers sliced through the Pisco Montano to carry the Appian Way past the town and who enlarged its harbour; a statue of him once stood in the forum below. A cinema that doubles as Terracina's stage, taking film, touring theatre and, from time to time, opera.
