Opera in Galicia is made by a small number of bodies working between Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña and Vigo, and Galiópera belongs among them, based in the regional capital. Santiago's own musical apparatus — the Auditorio de Galicia and the Real Filharmonía de Galicia resident within it — sets the frame in which it works. Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles is among the operas given under its name.
