Център за сценични изкуства „Гивънс“, Пембрук

The Givens Performing Arts Center opened in 1975 on the campus of what is now the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. It serves both the university and surrounding communities in southeastern North Carolina, presenting touring musicals, orchestras, ballet, world dance and popular music. University music and theatre departments also use its stage. Its programming has included a distinguished-speaker series and performances for children. The Hearts for the Arts programme provides subsidised tickets for students and eligible non-profit organisations. Southeastern North Carolina is served by a university stage: the Givens Performing Arts Center on the campus of UNC Pembroke, which brings Broadway tours, symphony concerts, ballet, world dance and popular music to a rural county and draws its audiences from a wide arc of states. A subsidised ticket scheme opens its seats to school pupils and to nonprofit organisations, which for many in the region is the first encounter with an orchestra in a hall.
