Vienna's University of Music and Performing Arts, the mdw, is among the largest conservatoires anywhere, and its student choir is the body through which singers and conductors in training meet the choral repertoire in practice rather than on paper. It sings in the university's own series and in the city's halls, and joins student orchestras for the works that need a chorus.
