The Aloysius P. Kelley, S.J. Theatre is the principal theatre space of the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University in Connecticut. It accommodates up to 740 spectators and has a proscenium stage with a permanent sprung dance floor, an Austrian-style main curtain and adjustable masking. Projection and surround-sound facilities supplement its theatrical equipment. The theatre is available for performances, recitals, lectures and other university and public events within the Quick Center complex. Touring opera has been this house's most visible connection to the repertoire: Puccini's Madama Butterfly and Tosca have both been staged there. The Kelley Theatre takes in visiting companies rather than maintaining an ensemble of its own, which is the ordinary condition of a good American university-town theatre — a room that lends itself in turn to drama, dance and the lyric stage.
