The Kurhaus that houses it was finished in 1905 to plans by the Cologne architect Oscar Schütz, 170 metres of neo-baroque built to put Bad Neuenahr on a level with Baden-Baden. Everything is grouped around the Fest- und Theatersaal, which holds 700 in the stalls and 300 on the balcony; the casino and the congress rooms sit alongside it. The federal press ball came here from 1951 to 1958, until Bonn built its Beethovenhalle. The Ahr flood of July 2021 damaged the building severely.
