Kuss Auditorium holds about 1,500 across orchestra, mezzanine and balcony and is the concert room of the Clark State Performing Arts Center, which opened in Springfield in 1993. The centre belongs to Clark State College, a community college that began in 1962 as a technical education programme for Springfield and Clark County. It also contains the Turner Studio Theatre for drama and lectures, a Hall of Honor and community rooms. Music, theatre, conferences and business meetings share the calendar with resident arts groups.
