The main auditorium north of Santa Rosa is the Ruth Finley Person Theater: 1,612 seats around a stage fifty-eight feet wide, with no seat further than seventy-five feet from it. The property was bought out of bankruptcy court in 1981 for 4.5 million dollars by a group of donors assembled by the banker Henry Trione, and the centre opened to the public that year. The non-profit Luther Burbank Memorial Foundation, formed in 1979, runs it and presents more than a hundred performances a year.
