НУМСИ „Проф. Панчо Владигеров“ – Бургас

The Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National School of Music and Performing Arts in Burgas was established as a state secondary music school by a ministerial order of 14 July 1961. Its educational roots reach back to the public music school founded in 1921 at the Rodni Zvutsi music society. Named after the Bulgarian composer, the school brings together instrumental and vocal study with training in acting, classical ballet and visual art. Its sixty-fifth-anniversary programme in March 2026 brought these disciplines together in performances at State Opera Burgas and the House of Petrochemists, combining concerts, theatre, exhibitions and ballet. Burgas keeps one of Bulgaria's national arts schools, and NUMSI carries the name of Pancho Vladigerov: a secondary school where instrumental, vocal and stage training runs alongside the ordinary curriculum, and whose leavers move on to conservatoires at home and abroad. Its pupils share the city with the Burgas Philharmonic, and the two meet on the same platform — in October 2005 the school stood behind an orchestral concert with that orchestra.
