Opera in Piazza is an open-air opera festival in Oderzo, organised by the musical and choral association Oder Atto Secondo. Established in 1991, it uses the town’s Piazza Grande as a performance setting, with the cathedral, historic buildings and Toresin forming its surroundings. The festival is associated with the name of tenor Giuseppe Di Stefano. Its production history includes collaboration with the Slovenian theatre in Maribor, enabling the presentation of staged opera with international artists. A Veneto regional account of the 2012 edition describes a forty-metre outdoor stage and public support for staging and technical services. Opera in Piazza is an association at Oderzo, on the Treviso plain, which mounts an open-air music festival and states its purpose as promoting the region's musical tradition and its cultural tourism. Concerts and staged evenings take place in the town's squares in high summer; a Strauss programme, Sul bel Danubio blu, was given in July 2013. The office sits at Via Comunale di Camino 84.
