An open-air site in Nuremberg rather than a built auditorium, used in the warm months when the city moves part of its programme outdoors. Opera on this scale — chorus, full orchestra, a temporary stage — is a summer proposition here, dependent on the weather and on the long northern European twilight that lets a performance begin late and still end in something like darkness.
