Half a century of touring shows has passed through this multi-purpose arena on Siegburger Straße in southern Düsseldorf, which took its original name from the electronics manufacturer. Puccini's Turandot has been given there. A later sponsorship agreement replaced the Philips name on the façade, though the old one persists in local usage. The Philipshalle in Düsseldorf opened in 1971 as a multipurpose indoor venue in the Oberbilk district. In April 2011 it was renamed Mitsubishi Electric Halle, continuing the same venue under a new title sponsor.
