Vienna carries far more orchestras than its concert halls could hold in permanent residence. Alongside the two great subsidised bodies, dozens of ensembles work in project formation — concert series, church music, recording sessions, engagements taken as they come — and the Pro Arte Orchester is a name from that side of the city's musical economy, appearing in mixed programmes in Vienna and beyond.
