Радио Румъния

Legally constituted in March 1928 and on air from 1 November of that year, Romania's public broadcaster built a concert life of its own around Sala Radio in Bucharest: the National Radio Orchestra, the Radio Chorus founded in 1941 and further ensembles are grouped as the Orchestras and Choirs of Radio România, with a subscription season of guest conductors and soloists. Its stations run from Actualități to Radio România Muzical, which carries the concerts; it also mounts RadiRo, a festival of radio orchestras, and the Gaudeamus book fair, and broadcasts internationally in more than a dozen languages.
