Dörrebach lies in the hills above the Nahe, a village in the Bad Kreuznach district known for the cherry orchards that draw walkers when they flower. The Schlossberghalle is the room such a place cannot do without: assemblies, choral evenings, carnival, and on occasion a company arriving from outside with an opera cut down to fit. Its worth is measured less in acoustics than in the fact that it exists.
