Zell's municipal hall carries the name of the wine the town is known for, Zeller Schwarze Katz. It seats up to 500, with a stage ten metres wide and six and a half deep, and the town administration lets it for carnival sessions, official receptions, committee meetings, school graduations and concerts. The September Römer-Weingelage, a public tasting, is held in the same room. Zell sits on a loop of the Mosel and has held town rights since 1332.
