Built between 1974 and 1978 to designs by the Dutch architect Onno Greiner and thoroughly refurbished between 2002 and 2005, the hall on the Theaterstraße is the town's largest room for congresses, concerts and touring theatre. Biberach keeps several stages in parallel: the Gigelberghalle, in use since 1895, and the Komödienhaus house the two municipal theatres, and the Dramatische Verein — the oldest amateur company in Germany — works alongside them. The Stadthalle takes what the smaller houses cannot: full orchestras, congresses, large guest productions.
