Stadthalle Rheine stands beside the River Ems at Humboldtplatz. Its main auditorium and five additional rooms provide approximately 1,140 square metres for performances and other events. The municipal cultural service uses the main hall for theatre and concert presentations, while flexible seating supports meetings and social gatherings. Glazed public rooms overlook the neighbouring green spaces, and a 350-square-metre terrace faces the river. The venue's environmental programme has included renewable electricity since 2018, participation in the event industry's fairpflichtet sustainability code from 2021 and a combined heat-and-power installation introduced in 2022. The full hall at Humboldtplatz seats 811 and takes 1,500 standing; a smaller room holds 624. The town of Rheine runs it and keeps up to 180 days a year for municipal and socio-cultural use, the first eight hours of each event day free of rent. The programme runs from comedy and cabaret through theatre, readings, musicals and dance to fairs and markets, with theatre and concert productions booked alongside conferences and seminars.
