Градска зала Шопфхайм

Schopfheim sits in the Wiesental, in the corner of Baden where Germany, Switzerland and France meet, half an hour by rail from Basel. Its Stadthalle carries the town's larger events, and the nearness of a great musical city has a curious effect on them: audiences here know the repertoire well, so the touring programmes that arrive — operatic galas among them — meet ears trained elsewhere.
