Built in 1930 to plans the town architect Paul Kleck had drawn in 1928-29, the hall was extended and technically overhauled in 2011 at a cost of some nine million euros. Its Großer Saal covers 382 square metres under open roof gables and takes up to 671 people across floor and gallery, with a stage ten metres by eight; a mobile rake can be brought in so sightlines and sound hold from every seat. Concerts and civic occasions share the calendar.
