Opened in April 1982 to a design by the Vöcklabruck architect Hansjörg Eiblmayr, the Stadtsaal is the town's municipal hall and its largest indoor room, seating up to 760. It is managed by KUF Immobilien GmbH and let for congresses, seminars, balls, fashion shows and civil weddings as readily as for concerts; a smaller Wappensaal and a rebuilt foyer take everything that does not need the main floor. Touring opera reaches this Upper Austrian district town through the same room — Bizet's Carmen was given here in January 2008.
