Театър „Де Спигел“ – Зволе

Zwolle's second theatre, designed by Martien van Goor, was begun in October 2004 and opened on 30 September 2006. It is the only theatre in the Netherlands with a movable ceiling: at its lowest the horseshoe-shaped hall seats 919 and keeps speech from getting lost; raised, it doubles the volume of the room and takes a thousand, which is how concerts are given. The house works with the older Schouwburg Odeon under the Zwolse Theaters organisation. Carmina Burana with Catulli Carmina and Carmen both reached the town here within six weeks in the autumn of 2011.
