Rakovník, a district town west of Prague, keeps its theatre on Na Sekyře street under the town's cultural centre, which also runs the concert hall, the house of education and the cinema. The auditorium holds 244, the foyer another 80 for club-sized concerts, and the room doubles as cinema and conference hall. Two amateur festivals anchor the year: the Central Bohemian showcase Wintrův Rakovník and Popelka Rakovník, for productions aimed at children.
