Jacksonville's civic auditorium of 1962 was gutted and rebuilt in the 1990s, reopening in February 1997 as a complex of three halls. The largest, the Jim and Jan Moran Theater, seats about three thousand; the Terry Theater is a recital-sized room; and between them sits the Robert E. Jacoby Symphony Hall, modelled on the Musikverein in Vienna — a shoebox of some 1,700 seats with the Bryan Concert organ. The Jacksonville Symphony and its youth orchestra are resident. The building carried the Times-Union name from 1994 until January 2022, when it became the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts.
