Фолксхаус – Линц

Linz maintains a network of Volkshäuser: municipal community houses distributed through the city's districts, each with a hall for meetings, courses, dances and concerts. They express a post-war conception of culture as a neighbourhood service rather than a city-centre occasion, and their stages have carried everything from wind bands and choral societies to chamber ensembles and, on occasion, full orchestral programmes.
