Биография
Ullman won the Liszt competition in Budapest in 2011 and the Liszt competition in Utrecht in 2017 — six years and two cities, one composer — and the association has stayed with him. Born in London in 1991, he studied at the Purcell School, at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia and at the Royal College of Music, where he held the Benjamin Britten Piano Fellowship; Leon Fleisher, Ignat Solzhenitsyn and Dmitri Alexeev were among his teachers. Liszt aside, his recital and concerto programmes run across the Classical, Romantic and twentieth-century literature, and he records. His first album appeared on Rubicon in 2019 with the Nutcracker Suite, pieces from Prokofiev's Cinderella and Stravinsky's Petrushka and Firebird, and a second followed in 2022 with the two Liszt concertos, recorded with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Andrew Litton, and the B minor Sonata. He has played with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic and the St Petersburg Philharmonic under conductors including Vladimir Ashkenazy and Cristian Măcelaru, made his Musikverein debut with the Tonkünstler Orchestra under Hans Graf in the 2022/23 season, and appeared with the Sofia Philharmonic under Dennis Russell Davies and Jonathan Bloxham. The Young Classical Artists Trust represented him from 2014 to 2017.
