Бианка Мърджан

Bucharest trained Bianca Mărgean twice over — at the Dinu Lipatti Music High School, then at the National University of Music. She sings in Romania and abroad in a repertoire that runs from Mozart through to Verdi and Puccini, and her concert work has taken in Romanian music and programmes built around George Enescu. Her teachers in Bucharest were Georgeta Ionescu, Maria Slătinaru-Nistor and Eleonora Enăchescu, and she took first prize at the Hariclea Darclée competition in Brăila in 2012. Attached to the Bucharest National Opera, she counts Tosca, Turandot, Aida, Amelia, Elisabetta, Cio-Cio-San and Donna Anna among her roles, and in 2025 she sang her first Tosca in Frankfurt and her first Turandot in Dortmund. In 2018 she received an award for excellence in opera at the Romania Opera Awards.
